Lisa – Salon Director
Hello, my name is Lisa and I am the co-owner of Taylor Green & Co Hair Boutique.
I have been in the hairdressing industry for over thirty years. I have gained my experience from working in a number of different and diverse settings, beginning my journey with a three-year apprenticeship at a renown salon.
During my time on the apprenticeship program, I competed in a number of hairdressing competitions at the highest of levels (The L’Oreal colour trophy, AHT and NHF)
At the age of twenty, I opened my own salon, called Armani, in Astley. Over the seventeen years, I owned this salon, I successfully ran my business, building up a reputable name, employing seven staff members and training high school graduates to become fully qualified hairdressers, who embodied the standards our customers expected.
After seventeen enjoyable years with my salon, I felt like I wanted to give back to the industry in the form of my own knowledge and experience. So I went on to gain my teaching certificate from UCLAN, and then proceeded to teach at Wigan and Leigh college for ten years, teaching at many different levels. Alongside my teaching, at Wigan and Leigh college I have worked at a locally well-known salon, in Astley.
Throughout my journey I have embarked on a number of training courses which better my knowledge and skills, maintaining the skills I already possess and updating my abilities to adapt to the current trends, styles and market.
I am extremely excited to embark on this new venture with my friend, colleague and soon to be business partner. We look forward to sharing our passion with new customers and staff members.
Susan – Salon Director
Hi, my name is Susan and I am co-owner of Taylor Green & Co Hair boutique.
I have over 30 years’ experience of the hairdressing industry, having worked in several local hair salons and establishing my own freelance hairdressing business.
Some years ago, I returned to college and gained my level 3 advance hairdressing qualification, and the year after I completed my Certificate in Education at UCLAN and began to teach as well.
I have been teaching hairdressing at Wigan & Leigh College for 14 years. In that time, I have attended numerous training courses at the Wella studios in Manchester and Paris and my role as a tutor took me to Athens on 3 occasions where I took part in trade hair shows and demonstrations. Whilst there I was also responsible for assessing students in an Athens hairdressing Training Academy, and awarding them a British hairdressing qualification.
Over the years whilst teaching I have met and worked alongside some talented and inspirational hairdressers who have been influential both professionally and personally, this of course, includes my good friend Lisa who I met whilst teaching 10 years ago and we immediately connected through our passion for hairdressing and educating others.
Over the years we repeatedly discussed opening our own salon and believe that the time and opportunity to do this is now.
Having lived and worked in Atherton for many years, I believe the time is right to introduce our vision of a new boutique salon that will focus on our client needs, with full consultations and bespoke colouring techniques.
We are initially starting small whilst I continue to teach at college, and hoping to expand by employing enthusiastic and talented stylists and apprentices
I look forward to meeting our both old and new clients at Taylor Green & Co Hair Boutique
Jade – Apprentice Hair Dresser
Jade was brought to our attention through Wigan and Leigh college tutors. We have always gone to the college for their recommendation on their most skilful and hard working trainees. Previously Jade had spent 2 years training in hairdressing before we were lucky enough to meet up.
Jade has always wanted to have a career in hairdressing and really enjoys all the challenges it brings to become a high class hairdresser in a high quality salon.
We often ask all our staff about how they are coping with learning and the difference made to their lives. Jade’ s reply was that her self confidence and understanding clients requirements have grown fantastically.
Everyone at Taylor Green and Co. will be supporting Jade throughout her training and look forward to working in the salon as a fully trained stylist.
Teigan – Apprentice Hair Dresser
Taylor Green & Co Hair Boutique are proud to welcome our new apprentice.
Teigan has been working part time at our salon since we opened in April this year. She has been hairdressing since leaving school in 2015. She has gained her level 1 & 2 in hairdressing at Wigan & Leigh College under the guidance of me and Lisa, who have both taught her whilst at college.
We recognised her potential very early on, she is passionate, enthusiastic and eager to progress and gain more experience in the hairdressing industry. Teigan loves colouring and would like to specialise in this and creative styling.
Lisa and I are very pleased to be expanding our team and are looking forward to working alongside Teigan, Jade & Megan.
